As you walk by the 3rd-floor English Room during lunch, you don’t hear the quiet turning of textbook pages. Instead, you hear lively chatter, laughter, and the crunch of snacks—all in English. This is the newly opened 'English Lounge.' In a school where English is often limited to grammar tests and exams, this lounge offers something entirely different: real, natural communication.
What is the English Lounge?
The English Lounge is a place where English becomes "real." It is not for boring study; it is for meeting new people and building confidence. Students can share ideas and eat snacks with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
Why was it created?
According to the teachers, students do not have many chances to use English outside of class. They created this space to help students use English naturally as a tool for communication. A first-year student shared, "It was my first time speaking English outside class, and it was actually really fun. I wasn't worried about making mistakes."
